Our relationship with God is defined by God’s covenant with us. God invites us to be with Him, and even more to be one with Him.
Thanks to this covenant invitation, we can live one life with God. Through this covenant, we find atonement – at-one-ment – with God. God first gave this covenant to Abraham, and like Abraham, we can live one life with God too.
In this series, we’re going to discover what it means to live in a covenant relationship with God. As we learn these lessons in covenant from the life of Abraham, we’ll discover how we can be one with God by living one covenant life.

Session Outlines
Session One :: The Invitation
Genesis 12:1-9
The point: Jump in to join up
God offers us an incredible invitation to become one with Him through a covenant relationship. But this incredible invitation is also challenging. From the life of Abram, we first learn the lesson that we must jump in to join up in one life with God.
Session Two :: The Confirmation
Genesis 15:1-21
The point: Die to self to live together
God confirmed His covenant relationship with Abram by walking between the pieces and showing that He was willing to die Himself to make this relationship possible. As a result, grace becomes the engine that makes this covenant relationship possible. Therefore we can choose to die to self to live together.
Session Three :: The Hesitation
Genesis 20:1-18
The point: Walk by faith to live in faithfulness
Sin isn’t just a demonstration of faithfulness; it’s a struggle of faith. We don’t trust God, and so we act selfishly. But it does not have to be this way. Instead of being faithless, we can walk by faith. And as we walk by faith, we begin to live in faithfulness as we live one life with God.
Session Four :: The Expectation
Genesis 21:1-7
The point: Experience the blessing today to expect the best tomorrow
Through Jesus’ sacrifice, the covenant is now fulfilled. All of the expectations that Abraham had in his covenant relationship with God are now blessings we experience. And we can experience the blessing today to expect the best tomorrow.
