Women

I have been thinking about women over the last few months.
How amazing we all are.
How conflicted we are.
How much we do.
How we do it.

It’s a growing thought and it is dominating my chats with my heavenly Father.
It’s growing in all my conversations.
It’s the lens that I have chosen to put on the camera in my eye. I want to see the details.

We compare and contrast all the time. “Comparison is the thief of joy” as it says on the quote boards.

We compete. We compete because we believe we have already lost.

We compete because winning is the prize that someone else dangled before us moving it further away with every race.

We give up. We give up because we don’t feel we belong to a team or a community or even a family.

We give up because we believe we belong to everyone else before ourselves.

We compete because we dare not run the risk of standing still.

We compare because we already believe the lie of beauty and do not see the gift of wisdom.

I want to dig in this mine and find the gold. I want to jump into this mud and laugh at how grubby we all really are.
I want to go to battle to win this fight like countless women before me for the sake of the ones after me
who will march unknowingly towards war and sit in the same soggy trenches and wonder if its worth it.
