I love possibilities, I don’t like perfect

I love possibilities, I don’t like perfect

I love seeing potential beauty and making things work .

Going to my local Thrift stores for any thing I need reminds there are many ways God can give me my daily bread and cake . Is he going to give it to me directly as a gift, is he going to give me the money to buy it new or is he going to give it to me already loved and used. I have to look and see.

I go to my salvation army store at least once a week, Its recreation for me

It has to be the most disorganized messy salavation army shop I have ever been in to,and its in one of the most beautiful places I have ever lived in but they know me there and call me by name. I rummage amongst the well read books and broken pieces of furniture , I imagine what I could do with strange lamps and overstuffed chairs. And how good they would look once they were cleaned or mended or altered

I bring home my purchase with such excitement and explain to Mike where this rather tatty article is going to live in our house and how its going to be transformed, and renewed and he begins to love it too.

Our chidren do the same in their houses, now, they go to auctions and pick up things off the side of the road and each time they call me and tell me about their latest treasure I share their joy in the discovery.

And I realize again why I don’t like perfect.
