How is there space to build an extended family on mission in today’s chaotic world?

We’ve gotten off the rhythm a bit as of late, but we regularly try, via a short, 2-3 minute video, to answer one practical question that we hear lots of people asking. Our hope is that these will be helpful, but will also spur on conversation and more questions in the comment section. If you want to keep digging around with questions related to this topic, post the comment, and we’ll be interacting with these daily.

Today’s question is answered by Sally Breen, my darling wife of more than 30 years. She tackles a question we hear almost everywhere we go: How is there is space in our lives to build and extended family on mission in today’s chaotic world?

I appreciated these thoughts. I think this is one of the most important questions/issues facing us as we seek to live missionally. My question… I don’t have (after work and in the midst of quite a lot of people-gathering) very much time alone, and I find that this alone time is refreshing. I spend time in the morning with the Lord which is great, but I love some evenings to just eat and watch some t.v. as well as work on this and that. I want to offer that up to the Lord for him to lessen that need or shift it, but I’m just wondering what others think of concerning this….

Anne, I am in the same boat. I need time for quiet reflection to put everything into perspective. I get this time during my morning walks and also on Sunday where I carve out 2 hours to go to the book story and spend “me” time. With four children and full time jobs, it’s hard, but it’s important. Blessings, Kelly
