How do you transition a small group into a Missional Community?
One new feature we’re adding to this blog is answering one question each week via a short, 2-3 minute video. We’ve tried to focus these questions on really practical issues that leaders will be wrestling with. Our hope is that these will be helpful, but will also spur on conversation and more questions in the comment section. If you want to keep digging around with questions related to this topic, post the comment, and we’ll be interacting with these daily.
Today’s question is answered by Jo Saxton, who I’ve known for more than 17 years and who has served on my teams for almost that long. She is a BRILLIANT leader and for this post is looking at how to transition a small group into a missional community.

Thank you for the meaningful advice. We often think that we should let a small group be, and the growth will be organic (which it often is). But you are right when you say that people love feeling comfortable in a small group. Therefore casting vision and focusing on the way Jesus did things is so important.
Excellent! Thank for this very practical video. We have had 40% of our adults in small groups for the last 15 years, but transitioning them to MCs has been a great challenge. thanks for exploring these things and making it real.
Would love to hear the rest of that conversation with Jo Saxton
