Looks like we are doing a mini Missional Community week here on the blog. Tuesday I did an excerpt from our new MC book that was quite popular. Today, Doug Paul, our Director of Content as well as a great practitioner with MC’s in large church and church plant settings, is going to talk about how to successfully multiply a Missional Community.

Good succinct thoughts on multiplying disciples (missional communities/churches). I agree that there are many ways to do this depending on “who” is “going”. My wife and I have found that ones and twos, or maybe threes work for us well, and seem to “fit” our gifts and personalities? That said, I see the usefulness of larger groups as well, especially if you are launching from an established or traditional church (as opposed to say a small house church, etc.) My hesitation at using larger groups is that I’ve seen groups tend to remain inwardly focused unless they are all individually intentional about their “out”. We’ve got to keep encouraging one another in whatever pathway we are on as long as they all lead toward Christ and the Kingdom.
