free church planter workshop

Pretty excited to announce I’m working with 3DM to put together a FREE workshop for church planters that’s going to focus on Missional Communities. We’ve put together a team of people from around the United States and Europe, all of whom have planted churches using Missional Communities, who, together, have been a part of planting more than 750 churches in the past 3 years.

Yeah.

I’m excited.

Hopefully if you’re a regular reader you’ve picked up church planting is a passion of mine…and not just because I’ve planted a church. There are many reasons why I believe church planting is essential to the future of the Western church, but here’s one that’s really grabbed me as of late: We live in a country where 62% of the population will never cross the threshold of a worship service. That means we’ve GOT to be serious about finding new missional vehicles and approaches for incarnating Jesus communities in the various contexts we live in. In many ways, church planting is the R&D (research and development) arm of the church.

Early adopters and radicals go out, test out different things, experiment, tweak, find new ways of being the church that are faithful to the gospel, see new life in new wineskins and pass on what they’ve learned to the established church. Of course we’d love to see the established church do this without church planting, but let’s be honest…that’s the exception, not the rule. They have too much to lose.

Obviously Missional Communities have proven to be one of more successful missional vehicles in the United States and Europe, both of which are contexts that are becoming more post-Christian with each passing day.

So on June 7-8, for two days in Pawley’s Island, SC, we’re opening up the doors and inviting any and all church planters who have ever been interested in planting outside the normal “worship service ready? All systems go!” approach. If Missional Communities have ever intrigued you…this is for you. Besides, it’s free. What do you have to lose?!

Space will be limited, so you’ll want to register here ASAP.
