Commitment to Principles no matter what
There are a lot of things I’m privileged to live into because I’m part of the 3DM team here in Pawleys Island. That’s really not lost on me.
But there is one thing that stands out above all of the rest and it was particularly highlighted to me this morning. You see, every morning, everyone on the 3DM team gathers at 8:30am for Morning Prayers. We sing worship songs together, orienting our hearts towards the Father, listen in silence and then share what God is laying on our hearts. We read the scriptures from the daily Moravian Prayer Text lectionary, listen to a brief teaching and then close in prayer together.
Each and every day.
There is an unflinching commitment to grounding our work day first in worship, prayer and the scriptures.
Now this morning, this was really highlighted to me. Why? Well, this morning we probably had about 40 people at our morning prayers. That included those who are on team, a few people visiting and people connected to people on team who live in Pawleys and are being drawn into our oikos (spiritual household). Well 40 may not seem like a lot, but something stuck out to me.
A few weeks ago, a lot of people where out at events or on vacation and there were three of us in that room. And do you know what we did? The exact same thing. We worshipped. We listened. We prayed. We read the scriptures and oriented our day as a community towards God’s coming Kingdom.
I remember 18 months ago when I first came on team that there were regularly 6-7 people. It was like that for a while.
What I deeply appreciate about what I’m apart of is that the number of people involved never, ever dictates this principle we live into. I can honestly say that kind of perseverance and character has not always been present in me. And not necessarily because of my choice but by participating in this spiritual family, that character is being formed in me.

Oh, this is huge: ” the number of people involved never, ever dictates this principle we live into.”
This is really cool… thanks for sharing this.
Thanks for modeling for us. We talked about following what you have modeled this morning as we in Mission Alive gathered. Blessings,
