Big Paul Family update!

Two years ago we arrived in Pawleys Island with 3DM for a season of investment and to help build out a movement that had given so much to Elizabeth and I. Many of you have been tracking that journey on this blog, various Learning Communities, other events, emails, phone calls, skype, etc.

And so here comes the next iteration of that journey! After a period of listening and processing, we sense the Lord leading us from Pawleys, being sent back out into the local ministry context. We have learned so much and could not be more grateful for our time and the family we continue to be part of. We are also excited as this new season unfolds.

So where are we going and what will we be doing?

Well…we are figuring that out. I’ll be working remotely with 3DM through the end of the year, spending the summer and some of the fall in Richmond with family as we get ready for a new season…basically discerning the right place and community. Shorter version: not quite sure yet, but know a place will show itself. There are always opportunities, but we are most concerned with stepping into the right one with the right community. I think Elizabeth and I are far more concerned about the WHO than the WHERE.

So it’s a SEA OF CHANGE for our family. Obviously it comes with all sorts of emotions: excitement, anxiety, sadness, grief and hope. But more than anything, the Lord has been faithful with giving his peace in this season.

Prayer would definitely be appreciated in this time of transition. Thanks everyone!

    Doug,

I look forward to hearing what God’s new direction is for you. God used your talk at TNL 6 months ago to break through my fear of following God’s direction. It helped me to take the leap into helping co-lead TNL’s camp for foster kids this year. Thanks for being God’s instrument in lots of different unique communities.

    Matt

    Hey Doug:

Letting you know I’m tossing in my prayers with yours. Cheers to the great adventure of chasing the Rabbi!

    Mark
