Doug has spent the majority of his ministry life starting things out of nothing. At the mega-church he started with he began a young adult ministry, then an alternative, post-modern worship service, all the while pioneering new initiatives as the Pastor of Multi-Venue and Multi-Site and a make-shift Communications Director. He then planted a church in Richmond, VA using Missional Communities, which has gone on to start The Eikon Community, a network of church planting, missional churches across the United States. Today, he serves as the Director of Communication and Content for 3DM as well as the leader of The Eikon Community.
