If you’re a church planter, you’ve probably seen the stats: 15% of Gen X and 4% of Gen Y are in a church service on any given Sunday. Furthermore, less than 38% of people are even remotely open to ever checking out a church service (and that group is shrinking with each passing year). That means at least 60% of people in the US are simply not open to going to church as we know it. Gone are the days when all a church planter needed to do was throw up a worship service, and with the right marketing, people who aren't already Christians would show up. In most places in the United States, this just doesn't work anymore.
Because of that, many church planters are starting to explore using things like Missional Communities and Huddles to start churches. While this isn't necessarily new, it is fairly unknown in the United States. In just the past 3-4 years our team has helped in the planting of more than 750 churches using different forms of church planting with Missional Communities and we’d like to offer our experience to you.
If you are a church planter, because planting provides some very unique challenges, we've put aside two whole days to teach on, explore, model, answer questions and provide in-depth consultations on Missional Communities in your church plant setting.
You cover your travel to San Francisco and lodging and we take care of the rest.

FAQ’s
Who will lead the Missional Community Workshop?
We’ve put together a team of practitioners from across the United States and Europe who have experience in planting churches and coaching church planters in using Missional Communities…more than 750 church plants, actually! You will have access to this team, from what they teach, to time for consultations, training and to ask as many questions as you need. We will be completely at your disposal.
Who is the Workshop for?
The workshop is for church planters, leaders in a church plant or people thinking about starting a church.
What will it cost?
The cost of the workshop experience is $30. The workshop itself is free; your $30 provide for your dinners and refreshments during your time with us. We've set time aside each day for you to go and pick up lunch.
What is the purpose? What should I expect?
The MC Workshop is designed to do several things:
How are you expecting me to respond?
Honestly, we aren’t expecting you to respond in any particular way. This isn’t a sales event. For some church planters, the experience itself is enough. Some planters may want to pick up some of the Content we’ve developed, while others may decide they’d like to continue the relationship by taking part in one of our recurring Webinars, joining a 3DM Community, Coaching track. We aren’t expecting anything from you other than the hope that you engage while you’re with us and enjoy the time as you dream about the future and listen to what God might be saying to you.
How are the two days structured?
This will probably be slightly different than conferences/seminars/workshops you’ve experienced before. What we are trying to do is give a mixture of teaching, training, Huddles, Q&A;, actual experience of MCs, good meals together, as well as down time. So the days will revolve around those things. Our goal is to give you some tools that you can actually use in your ministry context, a greater clarity on how to use MCs and for you to leave feeling excited and invigorated for the season God has you in.

What is the purpose? What should I expect?
The MC Workshop is designed to do several things:
- Provide you an overall foundation for how Missional Communities and Huddles address the massive cultural shifts we’ve experienced as we look at mission and discipleship.
- Help to clearly define MCs and what they could look like in your context as well as introduce you to a discipling vehicle (Huddle) that we believe is crucial to missional success.
- Show you and let you experience Missional Community life while you’re with us. Theory is important, but ultimately you want your church plant to actually work
- Plenty of time to interact with, ask questions and get consultations with practitioners who have actually planted churches using Missional Communities in the United States.
