FAQ
Does everyone who goes through the LC get coached weekly?
Yes. But it may look differently for different folks on your team. The team leaders
(one in three or two within a team of five) are coached directly, weekly by one
of our practitioner coaches. And they are coached in how to coach the rest of
their team. This is by design; we are ensuring that the process of coaching has
multiplication built into it for your team and new missional communities. We
want to be sure that your team leaders are faithfully reproducing what they are
learning in the lives of others, seeding multiplication into your communities from
the beginning.
Why isn’t everyone who is a part of the LC getting coached if the cost is the
same?
Like it was mentioned above, everyone is getting coached within the overall
process of the Learning Community. This is by design. But you are participating
as a team–not as an individual–and it is beneficial to see the costs for the
Learning Community being shared across the entire team. You are part of a
community on mission and just as with life in a community, we share the burdens
of ministry as a family for the sake of everyone and the overall mission.
Should leaders come with their spouses and do they need to register and
pay as well?
Yes and yes! We highly recommend that those who are married participate
together in the Learning Community. You are one flesh! It is our experience that
couples that participate in the LC together have a much higher level of success,
joy and reproduction within their communities. It is hard for one person in a
marriage to be excited about new learnings and missional breakthroughs and
then try and motivate the other in the same ways if they have not experienced
the same things.
If I am coming with one other person and my spouse does that qualify as a
team of 3?
Yes it does. And hopefully you will be adding people to your team who are
journeying with you during the 2 year process in the LC.
The site says I have to register in a team of at least three people to
participate in a LC. What if I don’t yet have a team?
The LAUNCH experience is designed from the ground up with multiplication
seeded into everything–including leaders who will start new missional
communities in the near future. This is why it is critical to begin as a team. If you
are married you are at two people off the line, which means you are only looking
to “pray in” one more leader minimally. If you still find yourself short and want/
need to begin in the LC, drop us an email explaining your situation. We want to
see you succeed!
What if I can’t come to all of the Immersions or need to miss parts due to
my schedule?
As you begin this experience in the Learning Community, please be aware that
you are engaging in what might possibly be one of the most important and life
changing journeys of your life–and others! We ask that you prayerfully consider
the commitment you are making, look ahead into your schedule, and prioritize
this experience at the highest level. Count the costs and know that you are
participating in a very rare opportunity. If you know that you cannot make all
of the Immersions before starting, it is probably not the time to start this. One
option is to pick up the “missed” Immersion in a different city on a date that
works for you and then “rejoin” your original or desired LC. If however, along
the way, emergencies happen (and life does serve these up) that cause you to
miss an Immersion, speak to your coach about how you should best proceed.
Emergencies are not work conflicts or double-booked meetings or vacations.
Emergencies are emergencies.
Can I add people to my team along the way?
Yes you absolutely can, and it’s encouraged!

How important is it for church planters to have a coach as they begin a new
gospel work?
In our experience, the leaders and church planters that have a clear process
and a coach to walk with them from the beginning are exponentially more
successful, get to multiplication much quicker and avoid the frustrations and
burnout often associated with planting a new church community. Often coaching
can seem cost prohibitive at first as funds are tight, but a year in a LAUNCH
Learning Community that includes coaching is probably less cost that the costs
connected to attending just one major conference in a year. (Flights, hotels, food,
conference registration fees...)
Is it possible to work out some sort of a group rate for the Learning
Community if I have a very large group of leaders who want to participate
together?
Yes, we are happy to work with you to get your larger teams connected to a
LAUNCH Learning Community.
